Copyright & takedown requests
Last updated: August 10, 2026
In short: if you hold rights in a recording and want it blocked from this service, email copyright@spotify2mp3.com with the details listed below. We read every notice sent there and act on the ones we can verify.
What this service does, in the terms a notice needs
Spotify2MP3 reads publicly available metadata from a Spotify link — title, artist, album, duration — and then looks for a matching recording from a separate audio source. If it finds one, it prepares that audio as an MP3 file. It does not sign in to Spotify accounts, and it does not extract or decrypt audio from Spotify's own streams.
This matters for a notice because the material at issue is the matched audio, not a Spotify stream. We do not operate a browsable catalogue, so the most reliable way to identify what you want blocked is the Spotify track, album, or playlist URL or ID, rather than a link to a file.
Sending a notice
Email copyright@spotify2mp3.com. So that we can act on your request without going back and forth, please include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. Where several works are covered by one notice, a representative list is enough.
- Identification of the material you are asking us to act on, with enough detail for us to locate it. The most useful identifier here is the Spotify track, album, or playlist URL or ID.
- Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Misrepresenting that material is infringing can carry liability for damages, including costs and legal fees. If you are unsure whether you hold the rights you are asserting, take advice before sending a notice.
What happens next
Acknowledgement
We aim to confirm receipt within two business days. If a notice is missing something we need, we will say what is missing rather than ignore it.
Review
We check that the notice identifies a specific work and specific material, and that it comes from the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them.
Action
Where a notice is upheld, we block the identified resource — including where it appears inside an album or playlist — so it can no longer be converted through this service. The block stays in place unless the claim is withdrawn or successfully disputed.
Record
We log the notice, what was claimed, what we did, and when. That record is what lets us identify repeat claims and repeat infringement.
If you believe a request was mistaken
Notices are sometimes sent in error or by someone without the authority to send them. If material was blocked and you believe that was wrong, write to copyright@spotify2mp3.com explaining who you are, what was blocked, and why you believe the claim does not hold. We will review it.
Separately, if a search engine has removed a page of ours in response to a notice, that is the search engine's process rather than ours, and it has its own counter-notification route.
Repeat infringement
We block resources that are the subject of upheld notices, and we keep a record of them. Where a pattern of infringing use is attributable to a particular user or source, we will restrict that access. The service has no accounts, so this is enforced at the level of the requested resource and the traffic requesting it.
Your own responsibility
Nothing this service produces grants you any right in a recording. Only convert music where you have permission or another lawful basis for personal use where you live, and do not redistribute the result. Copyright rules differ by country and by situation.
This page describes how we handle notices. It is not legal advice, and it is not a statement about whether any particular use is lawful. See also our Terms of Service.
